Pokémon League at Fourth Space Games

Whether you're just getting started or you're a returning Trainer, our Pokémon League is your space to play, trade, and enjoy the world of Pokémon—no pressure, no stress. We focus on casual fun, building a great community, and welcoming everyone.

When: Saturdays starting at 5 PM (we often run late!)
Where: Fourth Space Games, 524 2nd St, Portsmouth, OH
Cost: Free to join. We just ask that you consider grabbing a drink, snack, or a few singles while you're here to help support the league.

What to Expect

• Casual, drop-in play for all Pokémon games—TCG, VGC, Pokémon GO, and more
• No weekly tournaments. We'll host occasional events and special tournaments as interest grows
• Friendly environment for new and experienced players alike
• Deck advice, trading opportunities, and occasional mini challenges

FAQ for Parents

Is this event kid-friendly?

Yes! Pokémon League is a great environment for kids, but we do require that all minors be accompanied by an adult. We also encourage adults to join in—the games are easy to learn and it's a great way to share time together.

My child is new to Pokémon. Can they still join?

Absolutely. We’re happy to help new players get started. We have a few basic loaner decks available for the TCG, and we carry starter decks in the shop as well. Just note that we don’t have loaner devices for Pokémon GO or VGC—players will need to bring their own if they want to play those formats.

Do players need to know how to read?

Yes, a basic ability to read and understand card effects or game instructions is important. We’re here to help teach, but players need to be able to follow the game to enjoy it.

Are there prizes?

Not every week. League is more about community than competition. That said, we occasionally hand out small rewards for participation, and plan to bring back events like League Challenges and Cups as the group grows.

Is it safe to trade cards?

We encourage fair and respectful trading. Our staff and volunteers are happy to help supervise trades—especially for younger players—to make sure everything stays fun and fair.
